Creative Portal – Community Guidelines for Schools and Educators

Supporting Safe, Creative and Educational Engagement Online
Creative Portal is a platform for students and emerging creatives to showcase their work, access industry insights, and develop their creative identity in a safe and supportive environment.
To ensure the wellbeing of all users—especially those under 18—we ask all participants and educators to adhere to the following community guidelines.

For Students: Our Expectations We encourage students to:
Be Respectful and Kind, Use positive and encouraging language, Respect the views, backgrounds, and creative styles of others. Avoid personal attacks, trolling, or harassment. Protect Themselves and Others. Never share personal information (e.g., address, school, phone number) Use appropriate language and content. Report anything concerning to a teacher or directly to us. Create and Share Original Work. Upload only content they have created. Avoid plagiarism or copying others’ ideas without credit. 

For Teachers and Schools: Your Role We recommend schools and educators:
Support safe use of the platform: Brief students on how to use Creative Portal responsibly before first login. Supervise or review activity when Creative Portal is used in classroom or homework settings. Encourage digital citizenship and guide constructive peer feedback. Report concerns directly to Creative Portal’s safeguarding team if any student is at risk.

Safeguarding and Support Creative Portal operates in line with:

Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018)

We have in place: A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Content moderation (automated and human), Reporting tools on all content and user interactions, A clear Safeguarding Policy and Privacy Policy.

UK Platforms Supporting Online Safety for Children & Vulnerable Adults. 

Childline- Free, confidential support service for under-19s, covering online safety, bullying, mental health, and more.

NSPCC- Offers in-depth advice for parents and carers on keeping children safe online.

UK Safer Internet Centre- Promotes safe, responsible, and positive use of tech with guides for children, schools, and families.

Internet Matters- Provides expert tips, toolkits, and guides to help parents keep their children safe online.

CEOP – Thinkuknow- Run by the National Crime Agency; offers educational resources and a reporting tool for online abuse.

Childnet- Charity offering interactive resources and advice for young people, parents, and educators.

The Cybersmile Foundation- A global non-profit tackling cyberbullying, digital abuse, and promoting kindness online.

SafeToNet- Provides AI-powered parental control tools and online safety insights.

Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership- Offers the e-Safer Suffolk toolkit and other local safeguarding resources.

SWGfL (South West Grid for Learning)- Delivers online safety tools, training, and support services for schools and families.

UK Council for Internet Safety (UKCIS)- Brings together public, private, and third-sector organisations to guide UK online safety policies.

London Grid for Learning (LGfL)- Provides schools with safeguarding tools, filtering systems, and online safety training.

Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)- Helps remove criminal online content, including child sexual abuse imagery. Offers anonymous reporting.

SupportLine- Provides emotional support for children, young people, and vulnerable adults on a wide range of issues including online safety.

Family And Student Support Team (FAAST) – Tower Hamlets- Offers family-focused online safety support and links to safeguarding resources.
