Creative Portal (www.creativeportal.co.uk) is a free online platform that supports young people—especially students and emerging creatives aged 13 and over—to build portfolios, explore career opportunities, and share their work in a safe, supportive space. We understand that as a parent or carer, it’s important to know how your child is spending time online. This guide outlines what Creative Portal offers, how we keep it safe, and how you can stay involved in their creative journey.
🚫 Minimum Age 13- Creative Portal is only for users aged 13 and over. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to create a profile, log in, or use the platform in any way. This is to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Children’s Code, which require enhanced protection for younger children online. We use age verification at sign-up and will remove underage accounts if identified.
A Safe Space for Young Creatives- For users aged 13–17, we apply enhanced safeguarding measures to keep them safe: High privacy settings by default, Moderation of content and profiles, In-platform reporting tools Creative Portal is designed with safety in mind, following: UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018, The Children’s Code (ICO), Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018)
What We Expect from Young Users (13–17) We ask every young person to: Be respectful and kind to others, Only share work they have created, Keep personal information private (no addresses, school names, or contact details), Use the report feature if anything makes them feel uncomfortable, We also provide a youth-friendly version of our Community Guidelines to support understanding and digital safety. Creative Portal includes: Human moderation Reporting tools available on all posts, profiles, and chats. A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to manage serious concerns. Strict enforcement of our no-under-13 policy. How You Can Support Your Child.
You can help by: Talking with your child about their creative work and who they connect with Exploring their profile with them. Reminding them to speak to you or another trusted adult if something doesn’t feel right. Contacting us directly if you have concerns about their account or experience. Need to Get in Touch?
