Voices of the future

Join Us in Supporting the National Young Persons Art Competition: Voices of the Future

Together, We Can Empower the Next Generation

Creative Portal is thrilled to announce the launch of the National Young Persons Creativity Competition 2025-2026, a transformative initiative celebrating the voices of young people across the UK. From Autumn 2025 to July 2026, we will provide a platform for youth aged 14-19- whether in schools, colleges, alternative educational settings, or home-schooled—to express their creativity and share their perspectives on issues that matter most to them.

The theme,"Voices of the Future,"invites young people to create and communicate through art forms that resonate with them—be it painting, film, digital art, music, acting, or dance. Through their creative expressions, we hope to inspire conversations around well-being, inclusivity, and the urgent global challenges we face.

But we can’t do this alone. We’re aiming to raise £50,000, and your support will be instrumental in bringing this ambitious vision to life.

The Challenges Facing Young People Today.

Today’s young people face unprecedented challenges that deeply impact their well-being and futures.
Mental Health Crisis: According to NHS statistics, one in six young people aged 5-16 now suffers from a probable mental health condition, a sharp increase over recent years.
Social Inequality: A recent study revealed that 3.9 million children in the UK live in poverty, limiting their access to opportunities.
Environmental Concerns: Movements like the UK School Climate Strikes show that young people are more anxious than ever about climate change, with 77% saying the government isn’t doing enough to protect their futures.
Barriers to Opportunity: From those experiencing neurodivergence to NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), many young people face systemic hurdles to success. In the face of these challenges, creativity offers hope.

Studies have shown that engagement in the arts can significantly improve mental health, foster critical thinking, and encourage social connection. The National Young Persons Art Competition aims to channel this potential, empowering young voices and offering them a platform to share their dreams, fears, and solutions.

Why Your Support Matters

The competition will kick off with an online launch at the prestigious Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate, culminating in a national awards event in July 2026. Finalists will have their work showcased at major UK arts venues and on Creative Portals’ digital platforms.

Empower Young Artists: Give young people from all walks of life the tools and platform to express their unique perspectives.
